It took about 2000 more years, in 2000 BC, for the first methods to represent spoken language to be developed, by the Phoenicians. However, the Phoenician alphabet contained only consonants. This is how Aristotle’s quote would have appeared if it had been recorded with the Phoenician alphabet.
